Testimonials

Josh came into my business, Boogie Street Guitars, with an understanding ear, insightful ideas and a plan for our project that not only exceeded our expectations but was truly enjoyable to execute!  His dedication to overall project quality was only exceeded by his true desire for customer satisfaction.  In a world of media production companies who promise so much but deliver so little, Josh Malyn’s work stands as a beacon of excellence.

I would highly recommend using Josh Malyn for any of your video needs.  Our organization was thrilled with not only the quality of the work, but the reasonable cost.  But what truly set Josh apart was how easy he was to work with.  He was terrific with not only the children and the adults, but he also dealt well under pressure when unexpected time crunches or changes arose.  Josh was a pleasure to work with and everyone was delighted with the end result.

I was very pleased with the recital DVD Josh produced for our dance studio.
He really took the time to listen to my ideas and concerns and gave me what
I was looking for.

We selected Josh to do the editing of our saltwater fishing TV show. We wanted it to be highly professional with laid back, likable music to make an impact on our potential advertisers. He delivered! He was a diligent worker, easy to work with and did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I had the pleasure of working with Josh where we met on the location of the project. As you can imagine, it could have been a disaster! Josh was the ultimate professional and not only did an amazing job but brought fresh ideas to the project that made it better than I thought possible. I would work with Josh again in a heart beat! His camera and editing skills are flawless.

About

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania I began working in video production back in the early 90’s as an art director on an independent feature film in Erie, Pennsylvania. With this I had the opportunity to work on a collaborative effort with many talented people to create a hour and a half movie that was premiered to several hundred people, family and friends. I continued my experiences working on small independent films working as a grip, location scout, assistant editor as well as several other positions. Although the work I put in was all just for experience, I couldn’t have been more fortunate to work with the professionals I did. I learned the fundamentals of editing and shooting from veterans in the field who were more than happy to share their knowledge of what it takes to put together a quality production.

After several years of volunteering my help on several projects I decided to get a little more serious about what it is I love to do. I attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh for video production and basically tossed myself into learning more of the technical sides to video. Once again I found myself being taught by professionals who were more than willing to go the extra mile to explain the do’s and dont’s of video. After having the oppotunity to work in everything from live broadcast work with Comcast Friday Night Football as a camera operator to directing a live show I graduated with a Best of Show graduation award and a new found confidence in my abilites to shoot and edit video. Right before graduation I along with a good friend was given an oppurtunity to work on a half hour promotional video for a local custom design guitar company Boogiestreet Worldwide Guitars. With Dave and I responsible for every aspect of production we managed to put together a great DVD and a good example of what we could do.

After working for a year doing video depostions and wedding videos I moved to Melbourne, Florida with my wife. I then acquired a position with a small multimedia production company in Orlando called Imagination Unlimited. I now had the good fortune to work on video productions as the head editor and videogrpaher for clients such as Lockheed Martin, M. D. Anderson, Florida Hospital, CAE, and Siemens. After several years of driving 140 miles roundtrip everyday I decided to try my hand at this alone. With the abilites to write, shoot, and edit I began working as a freelance editor/videographer at the beginning of 2008. Although the new challenges are daunting the reward of creating unique video productions for clients is quite fulfilling. With the realization that not everyone gets to do what it is they love to do I keep this in the front of my mind while I continue to try and create compelling, quality video putting a little bit of myself into every one.
